Actions discharged this time: ---------------------------- ACTION: ACD speak to HME about the possibility of IT support making nightly backups of the SVN repository. ACD had spoken to HME. Apparently daily backups are already taking place. Two of WFAUs SVN projects had suffered corruption over the Christmas break, HME had managed to recover them. ACTION: RPB write a chron job to make daily check-outs of all the WFAU Projects in the SVN repository in order to provide a backup snapshot of the current state. No longer required, as the assumption is that the backups now carried out by IT support are sufficient. Actions carried forward from 12/12/2014 meeting: ----------------------------------------------- ACTION: RPB (was MAR) to have a look at the status of non-survey releases for registered projects. Continues. MAR had compiled a list of non-survey projects that could be released and sent it to RPB. RPB had yet to make these data available. ACTION: RGM to investigate the size and content (how does it differ from DR9?) of SDSS DR10 to see if it is worth us hosting and whether it is necessary to keep all of the earlier releases. Continues. The first part had been done: the difference between DR9 and DR10 is largely the presence of additional spectra. The part of this action that continues is that RGM had not yet established which early releases could safely be scrapped. RGM also noted that DR11 would be available in January. The main difference would be the addition of more spectra, which WFAU should archive. For further details see the WFAU SDSS strategy wiki page: http://apache.roe.ac.uk/twiki/bin/view/WFAU/SDSSDRPlan ACTION: ETWS, with RPB, to develop an automated helper script to keep release DB files links updated. Continues: this action still has low priority. ACTION: All to finish off VVV brainstorming tasks by end of January at the latest. Continues. ACTION: ETWS/NCH purchase a new license for mxODBC. Continues. ACTION ETWS/NJC: develop an automated tool to monitor progress in ingesting and curating surveys. Continues Specific points and new actions: ------------------------------- Project management: RGM noted that he would shortly be writing up and sending out the "agreed notes" from the annual reviews. ACTION: MAR to contact MJI about monthly WFAU/CASU telecons. WFCAM, VISTA and VST updates: No news. Networking: Up and running. WSA/VSA/OSA/GES Operations: ETWS reported that CU3 was running on VSA data, though finalise flat file seemed to have stalled. Additional OSA data had materialized and following transfer was now being CU3/CU4'ed. Hardware and Systems: MSH noted that the new memory for Unas had arrived and would be installed soon. Replacement 1Tb disks were needed. A new curation machine would ease bottlenecks but it was unclear if funds were available. Software: NJC reported work on fixes to the ESO release code for VIDEO and programme set-up for ATLAS so as to include list driven and Chilean u-band data. Review of Deadlines: The meeting went through the upcoming deadlines. The Twiki pages would be updated to reflect the discussion. Survey Data Release: A VHS P92 release had been made. GPS had been released in UKIDSS DR10. Non-survey Data Release: Two VISTA non-survey release databases had been produced. Astrogrid deployment, VO & Data Analysis services: Nothing for the minutes. Miscellaneous: NJC noted that there would be an RAS meeting on "Milky Way Astrophysics from Wide-Field Surveys" 30/3-1/4. RGM would be scheduling a WFAU quarterly in the next few months. ACTION: All to update the staff absences page.
